Scripture Focus "In order that now to the principalities and authorities in the heavenlies might be made known through the assembly [ekklesia] the all-various wisdom of God. This was according to the eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord." — Ephesians 3:10–11
Reflection God’s eternal purpose is far greater than individual salvation. From the beginning, He has desired a people—His ekklesia*—who would reflect His wisdom, love, and glory to the world and the spiritual realm. Through Jesus Christ, this purpose was revealed and is being accomplished: to unite His people in Him as one body.
When we live with this eternal perspective, our priorities shift. Life becomes less about our personal goals and more about joining in God’s work. We align our hearts with His will and find our greatest joy in seeing His purpose fulfilled.
The question is, are you living for God’s purpose or your own? His plan is unshakable, and when we join Him in it, we find lasting peace and significance.
Ekklesia: (Gk.) meaning a "democratic legislative assembly." (see footnote below)
Application Spend time in prayer today asking God to reveal how you can align your daily life with His eternal purpose. Reflect on how you can participate in building His body through love, service, greeting, and fellowship.
Prayer Father, thank You for including me in Your eternal purpose. Teach me to live with my eyes on eternity, prioritizing Your kingdom above all else. Use me to build up Your body and display Your wisdom to the world and the angelic beings. Amen.
*aka “the church”
I agree with that statement, but only in part. The Holiness of God must also be reflected by His people to the world and to the angelic realm. Otherwise, the principalities and powers will just yawn and not feel threatened.
